Euro-Electrix Ivan Marshall Mid Ulster Shield Kick-Off

The Euro-Electrix Ivan Marshall Mid Ulster Shield kicks off this Saturday, 25 September 2021, with some interesting ties, not least the Mid Ulster League Division 1 leaders, Newmills, travelling to current second placed team and reigning League champions, Ballyoran, who are also former Shield winners and our reigning Gerald Kennedy Cup champions.

With the vast majority of teams receiving byes into Round 2, these byes include reigning Shield champions, Rathfriland Rangers Reserves, as well as the then beaten finalists, Coalisland Athletic.

That delayed 2019-20 Shield Final had to be played in July 2020 behind closed doors, for the first known time in the Shield’s over 100 year history, due to the ongoing covid pandemic, which also sadly forced the cancellation of last season’s competition.  Let’s hope the Shield is played to a successful conclusion this season, culminating in a usual Easter Final before a large crowd, which should mean too that we are all hopefully coming further out of the pandemic.

ROUND 1, SAT 25 SEP 2021

Ballyoran v Newmills

Damolly v Hill Street

Killymoon Rangers v Lurgan Celtic

Milburn United v Seagoe Reserves

Portadown BBOB v Armagh City Res

BEST WISHES TO ALL IN THE SHIELD
